Road Network Files - DelDOT Centerline File

The DelDOT Centerline file is a digital, spatial representation of the State of Delaware's statewide transportation network. DelDOT's cartographic unit initially digitized the centerline file using USGS Quad Maps as the baseline. After aerial photography was acquired in 1992, it was visually matched against the 1:12,000 scale orthophotography. The process was repeated in 1997 with the 1:12000 scale photography acquired that year and again in 2002 with the new 1:2400 scale photography

The Centerline File is attributed with the following information:

Attribute Description
RDWAY_ID Internal control key used by the DOT
CTY County Identifier (1 - New Castle, 2 - Kent, 3 - Sussex)
BEG_MP The beginning mile-point of the segment
END_MP The ending mile-point of the segment
MAINT_RD The county road number of the segment, assigned by DelDOT Planning's Road Inventory unit for all State Maintained Roads
PRE_DIR Prefix in full road name designating direction
STREET_NAM Name of Road
STREET_TYPE Type of road
SUF_DIR Suffix in full road name designating direction
The Centerline File is in a shape file format and has been zipped using WinZip.
It is in State Plane North American 1983 Delaware (Meters) Projection.

DelDOT Routes File
The DelDOT Routes file is a digital, spatial representation of the State of Delaware's routes system. There are three distinct types of routes in this state: 1.) Interstate, 2.) United States, and 3.) State. It is maintained at DelDOT as an event table based on the Centerline file.

The Routes File is attributed with the following information:

Attribute Description
RDWAY_ID Internal control key used by the DOT
CTY County Identifier (1 - New Castle, 2 - Kent, 3 - Sussex)
BEG_MP The beginning mile-point of the segment
END_MP The ending mile-point of the segment
MAINT_RD The county road number of the segment, assigned by DelDOT Planning's Road Inventory unit for all State Maintained Roads
ROUTE_ID Abbreviation of route type plus route number
ROUTE_TYPE Type of route (State, United States, or Interstate)
ROUTE_NUMBER The State, United States, or Interstate Route number assigned to the route.
The routes file is in a shape file format and has been zipped using WinZip.
It is in State Plane North American 1983 Delaware (Meters) Projection.

DelDOT Intersections File
The DelDOT Intersections file is a digital, spatial representation of all of the intersections of 2 or more roads in the statewide transportation network. A road in Delaware's statewide transportation network is defined as one that has been inventoried and has a Rdway_ID. This file was originally created in August of 2011 using ArcGIS and Oracle.

The Intersections File is attributed with the following information:

Attribute Description
XCORD X COORDINATE of intersection
YCORD Y COORDINATE of intersection
RDWAY_ID1...RDWAY_ID9 RDWAY_ID of one of the interseting roads
The Intersections file is in a shape file format and has been zipped using WinZip.
It is in State Plane North American 1983 Delaware (Meters) Projection.
